Allow me to begin by saying that I believe that there is total and complete recovery from addiction. I do not believe the saying that once an addict always an addict. I’ve been addiction free for 28 years. Unfortunately, my Addiction Recovery did not come from dealing with a program. My family was not aware of the What are Neurotransmitters available to us during my addiction. For me it finally came down to a choice. I had to chose between my marriage or my addiction. Fortunately, I was in a place where I made the correct choice and choose my marriage. It took along time and a lot of work to overcome my addiction.
Choosing the real cause for my addiction was key (and took the longest) but, after the root issue was discovered I began my Addiction Recovery. Like so many addicts I started out smoking pot and progressed from there until I had been doing my drug of preference daily at the cost of everything and everybody around me. I lost precious time with my oldest daughter and years of a meaningful relationship with our kids. Throughout your addiction you don’t really have friends, you might have your partying buddies and once an emergency arises in your lifetime they are no where to be found. Real friends walk along with you through everything. My addiction included alcohol along with drugs and I drank almost everyday. From the moment I made the selection to avoid the addiction cycle within my life, it became a step at a time and it was hard.
When I began emerging from my addictive lifestyle a few things i present in its wake was a lot of fear and insecurities within myself, broken relationships and no real idea the things i was going to do with the remainder of my entire life. I truly began a stride at a time and something day at any given time. During my recovery my brother was killed in a motorcycle accident and thru that grieving process occurs when I decided to enable God directly into help me to. It took several years but healing came, direction for my entire life came and my marriage flourished. I completed Senior High School, graduated from College and have started my very own business, which now includes a business which allows me to work at home by way of a blogging platform.
Addiction Recovery Is Possible. When the real cause for any addiction is identified and worked through after that your primary reason to your addiction is not one factor. For many who remain addicts throughout their lives this is due to they may have not identified their real cause, usually are not prepared to work through their issues and permit healing to take place. Many want to remain a victim of the circumstance, not realizing exactly what the future would hold on their behalf should they would forget about their victim mentality. Constructing a relationship with God was key for my recovery, it is actually through that relationship that true healing happened.
My wish for drugs and alcohol is completely gone. Through constructing a relationship with God my self worth was restored, relationships were restored and that i discovered feelings of purpose for my entire life. Through my recovery I gained the skill set needed to turn into a better wife, mother, friend and employee ( which now has turned into a business owner). My road to recovery could have taken a much different route when we had known about the programs available to us. Programs for addiction recovery are valuable tools, not only to the addicts but to there families also.
Addiction Recovery and Programs. Although I ultimately gained freedom from my addictions a software program for addiction recovery could have been a great benefit to me. First being a Development Director then as being a Program Director. While this is an excellent program there have been some additional steps which i desired to offer those seeking help, so my hubby and i also opened our own recovery program and for a few years we welcomed those seeking help into our home. They lived with us for about a year and we dealt with them in depth, it absolutely was one of the most rewarding experience I have had in my life.
We closed this system because we knew the time had come to go in a different direction with our lives, but we have been always reaching out to those searching for help themselves or a relative looking for help for one they love. I am just about to start doing some volunteer work with a program within our area. Trying to help addicts overcome their addiction is quite rewarding work which is a thing that I will be part of throughout my entire life in one method or another.
